DEATH NOTICE

SOLOMON: Denis. It is with great sadness that the family of Denis Vincent Solomon announces his passing on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at the age of 88. Denis passed away peacefully at his home in St Ann's, Port of Spain, surrounded both physically and virtually by his family.

Denis was a force of nature who served his country as a diplomat, lecturer and journalist for many years. He was a former Express columnist.

He was also a founding member of the Tapia House Movement and the Humanist Society of Trinidad and Tobago, an avid sailor and a skilled woodworker.

He was the son of Patrick Joseph Vincent Solomon and Eileen Patton Jenkins, and brother of Frank Solomon. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Elizabeth, Juliet and Paul Solomon; son-in-law, Reginald Armour; daughter-in-law, Leanna Solomon; and grandchildren Vivien, Tara, Nicholas, Jade, Nathan and Gael.

Denis will be cremated in a private ceremony on Thursday, September 7, 2023.
